IOWA CITY - A 22-year-old Iowa City man was sentenced today in U.S. District Court for conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine and possessing a firearm pursuant of drug trafficking.
According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's office of the Southern District of Iowa, Antonio Murray received a 90 month federal prison sentence after pleading guilty in March 2011 for conspiring to distribute at least 280 grams of crack cocaine from July 2010 to November, 4, 2010.
An investigation beginning in the summer of 2010 determined Murray made several purchases of the drug over the course of several months, and personally distributed over 60 grams during the investigation.
Murray was also ordered to serve five years supervised release following his prison sentence, and to pay $200 to the Crime Victims Fund, authorities said.
