After four hours of deliberation on Thursday, a Johnson County jury found an Iowa City man guilty of first-degree burglary and going armed with intent, both felonies.
Police said on Sept. 5, 2009, Adame-Castillo entered the apartment of an ex-rommate in southeast Iowa City with a golf club and struck the victim several times with the club. Adame-Castillo proceeded to drag the man outside and tried to force him into his car. When the victim refused, Adame-Castillo threatened the man with a gun, telling the man he was going to kill him.
Adame-Castillo could face up to 30 years in prison if convicted of both counts.
