Iowa City man dies in motorcycle crash
JOHNSON COUNTY - One man was killed after a motorcycle accident near Lone Tree Thursday just before noon.
According to an Iowa State Patrol Crash report, at approximately 11:46 a.m., Patrick Moore Jr., 66, of Iowa City was riding a motorcycle east on Highway 22 when he lost control while attempting to pass another vehicle near the intersection of Highway 22 and White Oak Avenue in Johnson County. He then left the road, entered the north ditch, and struck a fence, according to the report.
Moore was thrown from the vehicle as a result of the accident, and emergency responders declared him dead at the scene, according to the report.
The accident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
