Iowa City man arrested on kidnapping charge

An Iowa City man is facing charges for allegedly holding a woman against her will for two days.
Police arrested Daniel Chevalier, 24, of 1030 E. Court St, on Saturday. He faces a second-degree kidnapping charge, which is a felony. The kidnapping allegedly took place at Chevalier's home on East Court Street, just east of downtown.
Police say the female victim reported that he blocked her from leaving by pushing her away, locking and then chaining the door. Police also said the woman reported that Chevalier assaulted and threatened her.
