Iowa City fire department responds to herbicide spill

The Iowa City Fire Department responded to a herbicide spill at Rochester Avenue and Scott Boulevard Monday afternoon.

Around 125 gallons of herbicide from farm machinery working in a nearby field had spilled into the street and were in proximity to a storm drain.

According to the Iowa City Fire Department, the spill was contained quickly and citizens should not be concerned.
