Iowa City Bruegger's Bagels waiting to rebuild
IOWA CITY - The Iowa City bagel shop consumed in a September fire is looking to come back, authorities said.
According to a news release, a new Bruegger's Bagels will return to 225 Iowa Ave. in downtown Iowa City.
Bruegger's Vice President of real estate, John Wadhams, said a reconstruction date is awaiting the completion of the fire inspection report with more constructional information.
Wadham thanked Iowa City Fire Marshall John Grier and his team and also said the community will continue to be updated as a construction timeline develops.
"Bruegger's has been so fortunate to serve Iowa City residents and students since the early 1980's, when we first opened the bakery, and our team is eager to start serving ourloyal guests again," said Wadham in the release.
