DES MOINES (AP) - Child-protective services workers are looking into the circumstances surrounding the deaths of two little boys killed in a mobile home fire near Arlington.
The Des Moines Register says the Iowa Department of Human Services has had contact with the parents of 6-year-old Henry Rodenberg and 5-year-old Ian Rodenberg. The boys and their grandfather, 73-year-old Gerald Rodenberg, died in the blaze on Jan. 1.
The fire case was listed as undetermined.
The boys' parents and their 9-year-old son were injured.
The Register says that according to a county official, the Rodenbergs withdrew their children from school after a dispute with the Human Services Department.
A DHS spokesman would not comment on whether the agency previously had investigated the family.
