A Mount Pleasant used car dealer has been found guilty of first-degree theft for taking about $130,000 from his wife's aunt.
Curtis Howell was found guilty following a three-day trial in Henry County District Court on Thursday.
Prosecutors say Howell's wife, Terrie, had power of attorney over her aunt and that she illegally transferrred about $130,000 from her aunt's account. The money ended up with the Howells or their business, TLC Auto.
Terrie Howell pleaded guilty to third-degree theft in November. She was sentenced to two years probation.
Curtis Howell faces up to 10 years in prison. Sentencing is set for March 12.
