Inmate fails to return to Linn County Jail

Linn County officials are looking for a woman who failed to return to the Linn County Jail from a medical appointment.
The Linn County Sheriff's Office says Rose Mary Newlon, 58, left Mercy Medical Center today after being admitted for a medical treatment. She was last seen in her room at about 7:15 a.m.
Newlon was being held on a forgery charge from Jackson County. She is described as a white female, about 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing about 145 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes.
Anyone with information on Newlon's whereabouts is asked to call the Linn County Sheriff's Office at 892-6100 or Cedar Rapids police at 286-5491.
