Police continue to investigate a collision between a pickup and a pedestrian Saturday evening in the New Bohemia district of Cedar Rapids.
Angela Schappert, 46, of Cedar Rapids, was crossing 12th Avenue SE near Third Street SE around 9:30 p.m. when a westbound pickup driven by Robert Bledsoe, 61, of Marion, struck her, police said.
Schappert was taken by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center and later transferred to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Her injuries were serious, but not life-threatening, police said. No information about Schappert's medical condition was released by the hospital.
Sgt. Cristy Hamblin said Schappert was crossing south against a "Don't Walk" signal, and Bledsoe had a green light. She said an investigation was continuing.
