Independence home destroyed in fire
Fire crews battled a fire at an Independence home early today.
Investigators say the fire, at 610 3rd St. NE, started around 4:30 a.m.
Firefighters say six people were in the home when the fire started, and everyone made it out safely.
The home is considered a total loss.
