Hy-Vee says it has resolved the issues that prevented its new black Hy-Vee Fuel Saver plus Perks cards from working at Casey's General Store fuel pumps.
A computer glitch is blamed for not allowing customers to redeem their per-gallon discount at the fuel islands.
'The technical issues have been resolved as far as the cards being accepted at the pumps,' said Tara Deering-Hansen, Hy-Vee group vice president of communications. 'That happened on Saturday morning.'
West Des Moines-based Hy-Vee received a higher volume of calls regarding the problems with the newly-issued cards. Deering-Hansen said there were no problems using the previously issued red Hy-Vee Fuel Saver cards.
Casey's has said that same-store fuel sales have benefited from the fuel saver program. For its fiscal year that ended on April 30, the company reported total gallons sold were up 9.1 percent to 1.8 billion, while gross profit rose 31.1 percent to $351.2 million
