Human remains recovered from Cedar River near Bertram
Hunters made the discovery near the water treatment facility

Cedar Rapids officials were dispatched Friday after hunters found human remains in the Cedar River.
Police and fire department staff were dispatched in the early afternoon after the hunters reported seeing human remains in the river, just below the water treatment facility near Bertram.
A water rescue and recovery team from the fire department located and recovered the remains, according to a news release from the city.
Positive identification still is pending, according to the release.
