HIAWATHA - A Hiawatha woman faces several charges following an incident Sunday at an apartment in Hiawatha.
Lacey Clarke-Peterson, 26, of Hiawatha, is charged with second-degree burglary, assault on a peace officer and interference with official acts, after police say she broke into the apartment, causing bodily injury to the female occupant.
Clarke-Peterson admitted to forcing entry into the residence and assaulting the woman before fleeing the apartment when police were called, according to a Linn County criminal complaint.
Police said when contacted by officers a short time later, Clarke-Petersen swung at the officers and resisted arrest.
