Before the storms hit Eastern Iowa on Sunday night, fire crews throughout the region had to battle a wave of fires.
Firefighters worked a house fire in Middle Amana. Investigators said the fire broke out just after 4 a.m. Sunday at a home on 27th Avenue. No reports of injuries.
In Williamsburg, firefighters battled flames at Driscoll Welding, along E. State Street near Williamsburg Manufacturing.
In Marengo, fire crews came out to a mobile home fire around noon on Sunday at 1051 F Avenue, between Marengo and Belle Plaine. A grass fire spread to the mobile home and caught that on fire. There were no injuries, but the Red Cross is helping to assist the family that lived there.
In Linn County, people living in a Hiawatha apartment building woke up to the sounds of fire engines this morning. The fire broke out at the complex located at 55 Robins Road. Also no injuries, but the Red Cross is helping those people affected.
