Our day is starting with sunshine, but the bright skies are expected to eventually be replaced with showers and thunderstorms later today, according to KCRG-TV9 First Alert Storm Team forecasts.
Highs are expected to reach the upper 60s today, ahead of a warm front lifting north that will be the focus for rain and storms this evening and overnight. Some of the storms could be strong, with large hail being the primary threat. Gusty winds and isolated tornadoes are also possible, mainly south of Washington and Sigourney. Heavy rain may also fall across the entire area.
A lull in the storm activity is anticipated early Tuesday before additional storms, some possibly strong, fire again late in the day.
