Firefighters are monitoring dozens of round hay bales that spontaneously combusted at a Jones County farm this morning.
Crews responded around 6:25 a.m. to 7412 Jungletown Rd., about three miles west of Oxford Junction. Between 50 and 100 large round bales were smoking inside a Quanza-type building, according to the Jones County Sheriff's Office.
A dispatcher with the sheriff's office said the bales will likely smolder for quite a while.
Firefighters from Oxford Junction, Olin and Wyoming were on the scene.
