Hancher bringing fall arts festival to Iowa City

IOWA CITY — Hancher is debuting an Infinite Dream festival Oct. 11 to 21, highlighting a conversation with Iowa Writers’ Workshop alum and Academy Award-winning screenwriter John Irving and Workshop alum and director Lan Samantha Chang on Oct. 13 at Hancher Auditorium.

Other offerings include orchestral, jazz and alternative music performances at various Iowa City venues, including Hancher, the Englert Theatre and Gabe’s.

Centerpiece is “NOWISWHENWEARE (the stars),” a performance installation in Hancher’s Strauss Hall from Oct. 18 to 21.

While some events will offer free admission, others will require a festival pass or individual event tickets. Passes are $85 for adults and $35 for University of Iowa students and youths, beginning at 10 a.m. June 15 for Hancher donors and 10 a.m. June 19 for the general public. Individual tickets will go on sale July 17 for Hancher donors and July 31 to the general public.
