A standing grudge led three people to enter a Marion home early this morning to assault its sleeping occupant, police said.
”They've had some kind of ongoing deal,” said police Lt. Scott Elam.
Officers were called to 520 12th St. a few minutes after 2:30 a.m., where Troy Wheeler told them three people had entered the home and assaulted him. Elam said Wheeler had apparently left his door unlocked.
The assailants left before police arrived, but about an hour later officers stopped a car driven by Jasmine Biddick at Highway 13 and Hennessey Parkway. Biddick was held on suspicion of drunken driving, and she and her two passengers were connected to the assault.
Wheeler wasn't seriously hurt and didn't require medical treatment, Elam said.
Biddick, 19, of 2185 Cambridge Court, Marion, is charged with drunken driving and second-degree burglary. Abagale V. Jones, 18, ofn 1066 Fifth St., Marion, and Roger R. Biggart, 30, of 222 Normandy Dr., Marion, are charged with second-degree burglary.
All three were released from jail after an initial court appearance this morning.
