Over $30,000 in grant money from the U.S. Department of Agriculture will help the communities of Edgewood and Colesburg purchase outdoor warning sirens and other public safety equipment.
KMCH Radio in Manchester reports that Edgewood received nearly $18,000 and will use the money to purchase a third outdoor warning siren for the community. The city will also purchase equipment for the fire department.
The city of Colesburg received around $14,000 and plans to purchase warning sirens as well as a fire truck.
The grants came from the U.S.D.A.'s Rural Development Community Facilities Program.
