HIAWATHA - GoDaddy Inc., with operations in Hiawatha, posted a narrower third-quarter net loss on higher revenue.
The Scottsdale, Ariz., company reported a third-quarter net loss of $5.2 million, or 4 cents per share, compared with a net loss of $26.6 million, or 21 cents per share, in the same quarter of 2014. Revenues rose to $411.1 million in the quarter that ended on Sept. 30 from $356.9 million in the third quarter of 2014.
GoDaddy recorded third-quarter adjusted net income before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) of $87.7 million, up 22.5 percent from EBITDA of $71.6 million in the same quarter of 2014.
GoDaddy designs and develops cloud-based technology products for individuals, small businesses, and web design professionals. The company derives its revenue from Internet domains, hosting and presence and business applications.
GoDaddy posted third-quarter international revenue of $105.3 million, up 17.4 percent from the same period in 2014. The company topped 4 million international customers in the most recent quarter, more than doubling its international customer base over the last four years.
In a conference call with analysts, GoDaddy CEO Blake Irving said the company is continuing to expand its product portfolio.
'We've been innovating in all three of our major revenue lines,” Irving said. 'In domains we continue to grow faster than the industry due to our expanding demand inventory, our industry-leading proprietary domain search and our efforts to expand the domain aftermarket.
'We recently passed more than 61 million domains under management, and that's over 20 percent of the world's total domains that we manage.”
GoDaddy in August received state financial incentives for a $6 million, 12,000-square-foot expansion and renovation of its office in Hiawatha. GoDaddy Iowa employs workers in customer care and as small business consultants, as well as in engineering, development and marketing.
