In today's Gazette, you'll find our new weekly TV listings product, TV Week.
For the month of August, Gazette readers get TV Week for free in their Saturday papers. If you'd like to continue receiving it for home delivery after this month, you must subscribe to TV Week. Cost is $13 a year.
TV Week is a 24-page tabloid, eight more pages than our old TV product. Those pages bring back some of the content we've dropped over the years that you've said you miss. That includes movie descriptions, a conversion chart that includes more cable and satellite systems, a rundown on daytime talk shows, plus more photos and sports information.
We're moving to a subscription TV book because market research shows less than 25 percent of our readers are using our TV listings. Most people are getting television information from electronic programming guides on their televisions and from the Internet, research shows. Our old product was expensive to produce and distribute; TV Week by subscription allows us to cut costs and meet the needs of readers who opt-in.
TV Week is available to Gazette subscribers who receive the Saturday paper.
What if you don't want to subscribe but want TV listings? You have options.
- Nonsubscribers can get TV Week in the Saturday paper at newsstands, for $1.
- Seven-day Gazette subscribers have access to TV Week in the Green Gazette.
- We expanded the prime-time TV grid inside The Gazette and will publish it every day, including Saturdays.
- You can go online to www.thegazette.com/tvweek.
So give TV Week a perusal this month. If you decide to subscribe, call Customer Care at 1-(800) 397-8333.
