Gazette launches effort to connect people with jobs

Check out the Sunday, Jan. 30, Gazette if you are seeking a job in the Iowa City-Cedar Rapids Corridor. We are going to run a new feature called Now Hiring, which focuses on available jobs in our coverage area and information that could be of help to those seeking either a change in their work status.

The feature will run on a quarterly basis. Our hope is that we can connect you with jobs that are out there, especially given the recent recession that we endured.

Now Hiring has a four-page wrap, with information you need to know when going on a job hunt, and then job listings. We want to give you something different than the standard “help wanted” section.

This will supplement other efforts The Gazette is part of in order to help you find a job. For example, we're part of the digital job search that you can find at 

Corridor Careers. The Gazette is accessible in its printed form

at this site, although you have to pay a subscription. The Sunday paper is $2, which is less expensive.
