Gazette examines E. Iowa school test scores
Mar. 14, 2009 7:58 pm
You get to see in today's Gazette the results of the most recent standardized testing in Eastern Iowa schools. Check it out in the special six-page special report: Your Schools. Here's a GazetteOnline
story that sets the stage for the report you'll see in the paper.
Comments continue to come in to my March 10 post on the placement of obituaries in The Gazette and March 4 post on comics. They are posted with: Gazette Readers Upset About Obituaries Placement and Comics, What Should Go?, respectively.
Even the Washington Post is not immune to what is happening in the newspaper industry, moving its business coverage to its front section. Other newspapers have shifted the placement of their news as well, and more will continue to do so. It is a sign of the times as newspapers try to curb costs so they can support the newsgathering upon which so many people depend.
The link to the Post story includes another link to that paper's decision to cut five comics and move "Dilbert" from its business page to the Style section Mondays through Saturdays.
