Gateway Gardens apartment fire intentional, investigators say
Investigators have determined that a weekend apartment fire in Cedar Rapids was intentional.
Fire crews put out the blaze at Gateway Gardens on Sixth Street SW in Cedar Rapids. Only three of the eight apartments had people in them when the fire started early Sunday morning.
Investigators credit the working alarms in getting everyone, especially children, out safely.
