Garver homers twice, gets winning sac fly for Kernels

LANSING, Mich. - Mitch Garver homered twice and hit a go-ahead sacrifice fly in the ninth inning as the Cedar Rapids Kernels knocked off Lansing, 10-7, Friday night.
Cedar Rapids (5-3) have a three-game win streak. The teams play again Saturday.
Lansing rallied for three runs in the bottom of the eighth to take a 7-6 lead, but Jeremias Pineda walked leading off the ninth to begin the Kernels' rally. Zack Larson eventually scored him with an RBI single to center.
Cedar Rapids loaded the bases with one out, with Garver following with his sac fly. Chad Christensen followed with a two-run single for the final margin.
Yorman Landa picked up the win in relief, despite being charged with three runs. Hudson Boyd threw a perfect ninth with two strikeouts to get his second save.
