It's still 'business as usual” for Gander Mountain stores in Iowa, according to a company spokesman.
The St. Paul, Minn.-based chain and some of its subsidiaries filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy Friday. As part of that review process, 32 'underperforming” locations will be shut down over next several weeks.
But no stores in Iowa will be closed, Gander Mountain spokesman Jess Myers said by phone on Friday.
The retailer has been building a 52,000-square-foot anchor store on Blairs Ferry Road NE in Cedar Rapids. It already had announced plans to close a smaller store in the southwest part of town.
