Ft. Madison prison inmate charged with sexual abuse of another inmate

The Attorney General's Office filed two counts of third-degree sexual abuse last week against an Iowa Penitentiary inmate in Ft. Madison.
Bobby Beckman, 28, is accused of sexually abusing another male inmate on Jan. 1, according to trial information. One count is related to alleged oral contact and one count is related to alleged anal contact.
Judge William L. Dowell set bond in the amount of $25,000 and set arraignment for 8 a.m. April 30 at the Lee County Courthouse.
If convicted, Beckman faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of $1,000 to $10,000.
Beckman is serving a 20-year sentence for third-degree sexual abuse, sentenced to 10 Years and five years for fleeing state to avoid prosecution in Clay County, and five years for interference with correctional corker in Lee County. He started serving his time in November 2004.
