CEDAR RAPIDS — Frontier Airlines returned to the The Eastern Iowa Airport yesterday evening with its first non-stop flight to Denver since January.
Eastern Iowa Airport paused the service earlier this year, with the increased cost of winter operations. Weather conditions combined with Frontier being an ultra-low-cost carrier and only having three flights a week, made the service financially unsustainable.
Frontier airline will now offer its Denver flights seasonally from April to January. The service is expected to continue each year into the foreseeable future. Flights will be three days a week on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday evenings and will typically carry about 150 passengers.
