The editor of the El Paso Times has stepped down, officials at the newspaper announced Tuesday.Dionicio "Don" Flores, executive vice president and editor at the paper, had run the paper since about 1992. An Iowa Citian who grew up in Texas has become the first Hispanic editor and publisher of the El Paso Times since 1910, El Paso Times Inc. President Chris Jensen has announced.
Dionicio Flores, 42, president and publisher of the Press-Citizen since May 1991, succeeds Tom Fenton, who had been editor and publisher of the Times since 1986, and has resigned. Both the Times and the Press-Citizen are owned by Gannett Co.
