Former Cedar Rapids city manager Prosser leaves town
Aug. 6, 2010 12:15 pm
Cedar Rapids' former city manager Jim Prosser, who left the city's employment via a “separation agreement” with the City Council in April, has left Cedar Rapids.
Quickly upon his departure from Cedar Rapids City Hall after a 44-month run there, Prosser was a finalist for a job advising local governments in Tennessee.
He then created his own consulting firm, JDP Public Parternership Group, and on Friday, Prosser said via e-mail that his new firm now has established offices in Chicago and St. Paul, Minn. He said, too, that he has moved from Cedar Rapids.
Prior to coming to Cedar Rapids in August 2006, Prosser worked for a consulting firm advising governments in Illinois, Minnesota and elsewhere. Prior to that, he had worked as a city manager in both Minnesota and Illinois.
Prosser turns 59 on Aug. 28.
His contract with the city of Cedar Rapids now has paid him the post-departure equivalent of one year of his former City Hall salary of $165,000.
