Police ended a foot chase Wednesday afternoon in southeast Cedar Rapids by using a Taser.
An officer pulled over green car shortly before 1 p.m. in the 600 block of 16th Street SE. According to police, the male passenger in the car got out and ran northeast between some houses.
Neighbors said the officer warned the man more than once that he was going to deploy his Taser as they crossed Sixth Avenue SE.
Lt. Cody Estling said the Taser was used, and the passenger was taken into custody less than two blocks away. No injuries were reported.
Police later determined the passenger, 20-year-old Otis Rogers, had a warrant out for his arrest that originated in Illinois. The driver, 37-year-old Kristi McLaud, was arrested on suspicion of driving while barred.
