CEDAR RAPIDS - A Tampa, Fla., company that specializes in bulk transportation container cleaning has acquired a southwest Cedar Rapids business.
Quala, a privately owned company that operates more than 55 locations in 26 states and Canada, has purchased Cronbaugh Tank Wash, 345 Waconia Ct. SW. The company provides food-grade tank trailer cleaning for liquid and dry bulk trailers.
Cronbaugh Tank Wash has two food-grade cleaning bays and two tractor-trailer maintenance bays and an on-site truck scale.
'The purchase of Cronbaugh is a strong strategic move allowing us to continue to expand our North American footprint and further enhance our overall service offering,” said Mike Bauer, CEO of Quala. 'Cronbaugh is a highly-reputable facility providing food-grade solutions to a strong and complementary customer base.”
The Cronbaugh acquisition adds to Quala's list of existing food-grade facilities in Charlotte, N.C., Atlanta, Chicago, West Memphis, Ark., Jacksonville, Fla., and Oakville, Ontario, Canada.
A workman was assisted from this tanker truck by rescue personnel after he was overcome by fumes while cleaning it at Cronbaugh Tank Wash on Wakonia Court SW in Cedar Rapids on Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2006. He was taken by ambulance to a hospital.
