Fire damages Iowa City home

IOWA CITY - An Iowa City home caught fire on Monday evening, sustaining significant damage.
Iowa City Fire Department officials said the fire spread from a storage shed to the multilevel home, 1412 Dickenson Lane. No one was injured and the fire was under control within 32 minutes of arrival, officials said.
Sixteen firefighters responded to the initial alarm and off-duty fire personnel were called to help. Outside support was provided by Coralville Fire Department, Hills Fire Department, Lone Tree Fire Department, Riverside Fire Department, Solon Fire Department, Swisher Fire Department, Tiffin Fire Department, West Branch Fire Department, Iowa City Police Department, Johnson County Ambulance, American Red Cross and Mid-American Energy.
The building sustained significant fire damage and moderate smoke and water damage, officials said. A loss estimate is not yet available and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
