Fire damages home on Cedar Rapids NW side
CEDAR RAPIDS - Firefighters spent early Sunday morning battling a house fire in Cedar Rapids.
Shortly after midnight, crews were called to 1324 A Avenue Northwest. When firefighters arrived they found heavy smoke coming from the second and third floors of the house. Damage was mainly limited to those two floors.
Two adults and a child were in the home at the time of the fire, but got out safely. No one was injured.
Crews say the fire started from a breach in a fireplace.
