CEDAR RAPIDS — Two individual were arrested for disorderly conduct after a fight involving about a half-dozen individuals spilled into the Cedar Rapids Public Library Wednesday afternoon.
Cedar Rapids Police identified the two individuals charged as Christian Van Dee, 20, and Santana Harris, 20.
The fight started in Greene Square, then moved across Fourth Avenue SE and into the front entryway of the downtown library, investigators on the scene said.
The fight involved individuals primarily in their early 20s and included one as young as 18, Cedar Rapids public safety spokesman Greg Buelow said.
A knife was recovered at the scene, but no injuries were reported among those involved, investigators said. One individual was treated at the scene for pepper spray, Buelow said.
Buelow said it was unclear what caused the altercation. He added that the individuals involved knew one another.
Buelow said police received a call from a passer-by about the fight just before 2:30 p.m.
