While on a storm chasing trip in May, Brian Ray shot Patty Ankrum of Mount Vernon asking the weather gods for a backlit tornado in southwest Oklahoma. “I love this photo because it perfectly captures the Patty's spirit and the spirit of storm chasers in general,” Brian says. “They love the natural beauty that big weather provides and travel all around tornado ally for just the chance to see a storm.”
