University of Iowa's former dean of students is asking a judge to order school officials to turn over hundreds of records related to the sexual assault case that got him fired.
Phil Jones is suing several university officials and an outside law firm that investigated his handling of allegations that two football players sexually assaulted a female athlete in 2007 in a dorm room.
UI President Sally Mason fired Jones and General Counsel Marc Mills after the 2008 investigation found some missteps. Jones and Mills have filed lawsuits alleging they were wrongfully terminated.
Jones asked a judge last week to order defendants to turn over hundreds of documents related to the case that have been withheld because of attorney-client privilege. He says he needs the records to build his case.
