FRY fest will wrap up with a huge outdoor concert on Friday night, Aug. 30, on the lawn outside the Coralville Marriott, on the Two Rivers Bank & Trust stage. Again this year, FRY fest is bringing big country crooners to town.
“Country acts have definitely gone over well in the past,” says Allie Howarth, director of special events at the Iowa City/Coralville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. “So this year, we're excited to bring Dustin Lynch and Chris Cagle to FRY fest.”
Dustin Lynch, 28, a singer-songwriter from Tullahoma, Tenn., will take the stage at 7 p.m.
“He's an up-and-comer and has a lot of recent songs out,” Howarth says. “His ‘Cowboys and Angels' hit just went platinum, which is well deserved.”
Headlining the concert is Chris Cagle, 44, a native of Louisiana. “He's your classic country star,” Howarth says. His hit songs include “Let There Be Cowgirls,” “I Breathe In, I Breathe Out” and “What Kinda Gone.” Cagle will take the stage at 8:30 p.m.
