Dump truck crashes into Iowa store

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (AP) - Council Bluffs police suspect the driver of dump truck had a medical problem before crashing into shoe store.

Sgt. Pat Toscano says the dump truck went through the front of a Payless ShoeSource shortly after 9 a.m. on Wednesday.

Toscano says a witness told police the dump truck went over a curb, hit a street sign and veered into the store.

Toscano says investigators believe the man had a medical emergency because it appeared that there were no brake marks on the road.

No employees in the store were hurt. The driver was taken to an area hospital. His name and condition were not immediately released.
