Duane Arnold nuclear plant back online

The Duane Arnold Energy Center was back online this morning after a roughly one month refueling outage that included the repair a cracked weld joint discovered in a reactor nozzle.
The state's only nuclear power plant receives extensive inspections and maintenance during the outage, which is used to replace fuel rods in the reactor core. Plant spokeswoman Renee Nelson said the plant was producing at 36 percent of capacity this morning.
