Driver killed in crash near Central City

CENTRAL CITY - One person was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Central City Tuesday morning.
According to the Linn County Sheriff's Office, a vehicle was eastbound on Sawyer Road near the intersection of Duck Pond Road, east of Central City, at 5:25 a.m. Tuesday when the driver lost control. The vehicle entered the south ditch and overturned, coming to rest on a frozen pond.
The driver, who was alone in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver's identity is being withheld until relatives are notified.
The incident remains under investigation.
