Driver in Interstate 380 crash upgraded to good condition

Police responded to the single-vehicle wreck at 2:38 a.m. Monday morning in the northbound lanes of I-380 near Collins Road. The driver, Troy Fox, 36, of Hiawatha, lost control of the car and it struck a light pole, police said.
Fox and a passenger, Ruben Mayo, 32, of Cedar Rapids, were injured. According to a spokeswoman at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Fox has been upgraded to good condition. No information is available on the condition of the passenger.
Fox was wearing his seat belt, but police are unsure if Mayo was. No charges have been filed at this time, as police continue to investigate.
