Driver hurt after truck tips into ditch on curved Linn County ramp
CEDAR RAPIDS - Emergency crews took a semi driver to the hospital after his truck tipped over into the ditch Tuesday.
It happened about 9 a.m. on the ramp from Highway 30 eastbound to Highway 13 northbound.
According to a Linn County Sheriff's Office news release. 61-year-old Douglas Andrews of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators said Andrews drove too close to the shoulder on the curved ramp and the cargo trailer, with a load of flour, toppled into the ditch.
Andrews was the only occupant of the semi, and no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Linn County Sheriff's deputies and Iowa DOT Enforcement officers are still investigating the crash.
