Driver cited after striking pedestrian in Iowa City

IOWA CITY – A 19-year-old woman was cited for striking another car and a pedestrian with her vehicle near the intersection of College and Gilbert streets in Iowa City Saturday afternoon.
According to police, Paxton Bahr, 19, of Chicago, was distracted by a conversation with a passenger and entered the intersection against a red light. Bahr's vehicle collided with a vehicle driven by Joseph Sieber, 50, of West Des Moines and then continued forward striking a pedestrian.
The pedestrian – Joann Webster, 71, of Iowa City – was transported to University Hospital and Clinics by ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Bahr was cited for failure to obey a traffic signal.
