Walking the dog can be a bit of a chore when the temps drop down in winter.
But Caroline the Bull Terrier got the chance to go for a walk today without stepping a foot outdoors.
The Cedar Rapids animal shelter says it started treadmilling dogs about a month ago to keep them fit during the winter weather.
Northtown Schwinn donated the treadmill.
By the way, Caroline is up for adoption.
If you're interested just call the shelter at 319-286-5993.
Caroline, a two to three year old, female, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, gets on exercise on a treadmill at the Cedar Rapids Animal Shelter on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, in northeast Cedar Rapids. The Precor treadmill was donated by Northtown Ltd. Cycling & Fitness. Dogs spend a minimum of 20 minutes on the treadmill. More energetic breeds exercise longer. The shelter has had the treadmill for about a month. Caroline is available for adoption. (Jim Slosiarek/The Gazette)
