Fire caused extensive damage and killed a dog in a mobile home fire early Monday.
Firefighters were called to 381 Lesley Ln. NE around 6:15 a.m. Acting Battalion Chief Dan Ripley said no one was home when the fire broke out.
Crews brought the fire under control, but not before it burned through an exterior wall. They had to rip out part of the ceiling to see if the fire had spread.
“We don't want (the effort) to be in vain,” Capt. Mike Mulherin said.
Mulherin said the people who live in the mobile home would be displaced. The American Red Cross was called to provide assistance.
Investigators were working to determine what caused the blaze.
