Disaster emergency declared for Johnson County

IOWA CITY - A disaster emergency has been declared for Johnson County.
Gov. Terry Branstad issued the proclamation Saturday. The designation allows state resources to be used to recover from last week's snowstorm, including heavy equipment for snow removal.
Disaster emergency proclamations were issued earlier for Cedar, Delaware, Dubuque, Jackson, Jones, Lee and Scott counties.
