ROSEVILLE, Mich. (AP) - Yabba, dabba - ouch!
A Detroit-area man whose brakes failed on his pickup truck opened his door and dragged his feet to slow the vehicle. Joseph Gora says people who hear the story are calling him "Fred," a Stone Age cartoon character in "The Flintstones," who stopped his car the same way.
The Macomb Daily says the incident occurred on Aug. 17 and was captured on video by Roseville police. Gora says he had 1,000 pounds of steel in his pickup when his brakes failed. He says he got off an interstate, entered rush-hour traffic and dragged his feet to slow down the truck.
The video shows Gora dodging cars, although police say at least four were hit. Gora wasn't hurt but was ticketed for reckless driving.
