The search continues for a missing Crawfordsville woman, but other than the discovery of her car in Missouri, there's little new information in the case.
Sharon Hopf disappeared the morning of Jan. 5, while on her way to work. Over the weekend, her car turned up in Wright City, Missouri, but Hopf was nowhere to be found. Searchers were hoping the discovery of her car would help them locate her, but so far that hasn't happened. And investigators in Washington County said there is no new information in the case.
When Hopf's car was found, a Washington County deputy went to Missouri to seal the car for evidence. Authorities then brought the vehicle back to their facility in Washington County, where it currently sits. Now officials are working with a lab to determine if any of the evidence in the car will help progress their search.
Family members and friends are trying to figure out how Hopf's vehicle ended up in Missouri in the first place.
"We couldn't believe it was down here, still haven't figured out why it's here," said Ron Sojka, Hopf's cousin, in an interview with KTVI in St. Louis.
"I'm still in shock over all this. We're all out doing the best we can to help find her and you know...we'd like to know she's OK. You miss her. We do. We love her and we miss her," added Joe Bennett, a friend of Hopf's.
Officials in Missouri searched the area where the car was found, but didn't find anything.
